AP Testing and College Courses Help Taos High School Students Prepare

  • Local Champion: Taos High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization
  • Date Funded: March 11, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,200

Many Taos High School students are unable to take advantage of advanced placement exams and dual-credit college courses due to the required fees—costs that quickly multiply for ambitious students taking multiple tests and classes. When teachers noticed students opting out of these valuable opportunities solely due to financial constraints, they approached the Taos High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO) with a solution. In need of support, one PTSO member reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help the group launch a program covering exam fees for AP tests and college courses at the University of New Mexico, ensuring that all Taos students can access these opportunities regardless of their financial circumstances.
