Accessible Carts and Inclusive Events Help Monte Vista Embrace All Residents

  • Local Champion: SLV P.A.C.C.
  • Date Funded: March 10, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $25,250

Monte Vista residents with mobility challenges and disabilities face significant barriers due to a lack of inclusive community events and other support. Two local parents who have children with disabilities recognized these challenges and reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help SLV P.A.C.C. purchase Caroline’s Carts—specialized shopping carts for people with disabilities—and distribute them to local businesses, as well as host a series of inclusive events tailored for people with sensory sensitivities and mobility challenges. These improvements will allow Monte Vista families affected by disabilities to shop more comfortably, participate in community celebrations, and build connections with others who have similar experiences.
