A Taos School Creates More Secure Mountain Bike Storage

  • Local Champion: Anansi Charter School
  • Date Funded: July 25, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $9,785

The Anansi Charter School in Taos recently received a grant through the Riding for Focus Program to purchase a fleet of 35 mountain bikes, an opportunity that will allow kids to learn a new sport. But the school lacks a place to store those bikes securely. After hearing a radio ad about the LOR Foundation, the director of the school reached out with an idea. With help from LOR, the school purchased a storage shed, bike hangers, stands, and tools to assemble them—equipment that will keep wheels in motion for years to come.
