A Security Fence Makes the Weiser River Trail Safer

  • Local Champion: Friends of the Weiser River Trail
  • Date Funded: September 25, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $7,720

One section of the Weiser River Trail has become a safety concern for users, who report harassment and intimidation from nearby residents. Feeling unsafe, many walkers and cyclists bypass the portion of the trail or avoid the trail entirely. One member of the Friends of the Weiser River Trail learned that a previous security fence project had stalled due to a lack of funds, so he reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Friends of the Weiser River Trail hire a contractor to complete 170 feet of security fencing along the problematic section, allowing Weiser residents to use and enjoy the full length of the community trail.
