A Rugged SUV Expands Health Services Access in Libby

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County Health Department
  • Date Funded: May 29, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $30,000

Many Libby residents can’t access essential county health services at the Lincoln County Annex building due to transportation challenges, physical limitations, or work schedules. While the Lincoln County Health Department has a large van for community outreach, it’s too large and not equipped to serve residents on unpaved roads or in remote areas where services are most needed. The county’s public health manager saw how these barriers were preventing residents from receiving help, so he reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Lincoln County Health Department purchase a small SUV that can navigate difficult terrain and reach homebound residents throughout the Libby area, allowing health department staff to provide services like vaccinations, health inspections, and mental health support directly to people who can’t make it to the annex for care.
