A Pop-Up Indoor Skatepark Keeps Cortez Kickflipping All Winter Long

  • Local Champion: Cortez local
  • Date Funded: October 13, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $6,700

The Cortez Skatepark is an important asset to local skateboarders, including youth, but it is inaccessible for a large portion of the year due to weather. Recognizing this, a local resident began working with other community groups like the School Community Youth Collaborative on the idea of a pop-up indoor skate park. Good Samaritan offered its warehouse as the first location, so all that remained was a little help purchasing the equipment needed to launch the skate park. LOR’s funding will help support the purchase of mini ramps, rails, grind boxes, and construction labor.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation
