A Water Fountain Helps Libby Library Visitors Take Advantage of Local Resources

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County Public Libraries Foundation
  • Date Funded: October 10, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

The Libby Branch of Lincoln County Libraries serves as a vital community hub, where residents gather daily to read, learn, and connect with their neighbors. But while the library offers extensive resources and programming during its weekday hours, it lacks one basic amenity: access to drinking water. The library’s existing water fountain has been broken and unusable for a while, limiting the time that locals can spend enjoying the space. When library staff saw an opportunity to solve this problem, they reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the Lincoln County Public Libraries Foundation purchase and install a new ADA-compliant water fountain and water bottle filler, ensuring visitors can stay hydrated while taking advantage of the library’s many services.
