A Laser Engraver Prepares Libby Students for Manufacturing Careers

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: October 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $29,995

Libby Middle High School’s industrial arts program teaches traditional woodworking skills, but the school lacks equipment that would prepare students for today’s manufacturing and design careers. One teacher wanted to ensure that students could learn modern fabrication techniques and earn certifications that local employers value, so he reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Libby Middle High School purchase a laser engraving machine. The new equipment will allow the school to launch a certification program, giving students the opportunity to work with wood, acrylic, glass, and other materials and earn real-world credentials.
