A Generator Keeps Libby Streets Safe and Clear

  • Local Champion: City of Libby
  • Date Funded: January 8, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $27,500

Recent storms knocked out power to the warehouse of Libby’s city street department, preventing crews from opening electric bay doors to access equipment needed to clear fallen trees and maintain roads. Imagining similar scenarios in the future, city staff wanted to ensure crews could clear roads and protect residents, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the city of Libby purchase and install a backup generator for the street department’s warehouse, ensuring crews can respond quickly to keep streets and sidewalks safe for residents.
