A Digital Projector Brings the Cortez Community Together

  • Local Champion: Cortez Creative Arts District
  • Date Funded: September 2, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $16,000

In the age of smartphones and streaming services, many Cortez families struggle to find activities that bring them together in a meaningful way. After hosting two successful family movie nights in local parks, volunteers with the Cortez Creative Arts District realized they needed better equipment to grow the program and bring more families together. LOR’s funding helped the Cortez Creative Arts District purchase a high-quality digital projector and server system that will significantly improve outdoor visibility and reduce film licensing costs. The equipment will also be used for local art exhibits, fostering community engagement while boosting activity for downtown businesses.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation.
