A Covered Walkway and Locking Door Protect Libby’s Senior Center Volunteers

  • Local Champion: Senior Citizens of Lincoln County
  • Date Funded: January 20, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $3,615

The Libby Senior Center recently expanded its medical equipment storage area, but the new entrance has created safety hazards for volunteers. The outdoor walkway to the storage area becomes dangerously slick during winter, while the door does not lock, leaving the area exposed. Senior center staff wanted to protect volunteers, many of whom are elderly and risk falling, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Senior Center hire a contractor to cover the walkway and install a locking door, keeping elderly volunteers safe and helping them continue to serve the community.
