A/C Empowers Weiser Volunteers, Helping Them Give Back

  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: September 12, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $5,685

Throughout the year, Weiser’s Lions Club raises money to give back to the community. One of the ways the group collects donations is through its concession stand at Weiser Memorial Park, which volunteers man during sports games in the fall and winter. The club wanted to expand its fundraising to include summer baseball games, something it has been unable to do because of Weiser’s scorching heat. So, one club member reached out to LOR with a simple solution: install air conditioning for volunteers. LOR’s funding will help the Lions Club purchase and install an air conditioner at the concession stand, supporting volunteers as they raise money for local youth programs, seniors, and Weiser Memorial Hospital.
