Buffalo Kids and Families Find More Room at the YMCA

  • Local Champion: Johnson County Family YMCA
  • Date Funded: June 9, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $14,932

Buffalo’s Johnson County Family YMCA serves hundreds of families, but while the Y offers programs for adults and school-aged kids, children under six are often left with no room to move or play. To fill this gap, one YMCA staff member reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Johnson County Family YMCA transform an unused storage room into a dedicated activity space for kids under six, featuring a play set, cushioned mats, and a traverse wall. During youth basketball game nights, the Y will provide supervision, giving families a place everyone can enjoy.
