  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: September 16, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,704

After a city water department employee discussed community safety concerns with the city manager at a local farmers market, she connected him with LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the city of Weiser purchase handheld testing equipment and test strips to detect harmful algae toxins in local rivers throughout the late summer season. The proactive monitoring program will enable the city to issue timely public safety advisories, protecting families and pets from exposure to toxins that can harmful.
