Theater Support Strengthens Local Arts in Monte Vista

Monte Vista residents currently have limited access to live theater and cultural events, often needing to travel outside the community to experience or participate in the performing arts. After stepping into a leadership role with the San Luis Valley Theatre Company, a Monte Vista resident and performing arts instructor reached out to LOR with a vision to bring consistent, high-quality productions to the community.

LOR’s funding will support the purchase of costumes, makeup, set materials, scripts, and licensing fees to establish regular performances featuring local talent of all ages, including four annual productions.

These productions will create accessible opportunities for residents to participate on stage, contribute behind the scenes, or attend as audience members—while building confidence in youth and strengthening community connections through the arts.
