Teen Takeover Nights Give Weiser Youth a Place to Connect

Weiser teens lack safe, supervised spaces to gather and spend time together, limiting opportunities for social connection and community engagement. After the director of the Weiser Public Library hosted two successful teen nights that drew strong attendance, she reached out to LOR for support launching a regular monthly program. LOR’s funding will help the Weiser Public Library purchase gaming equipment, craft supplies, snacks, and materials to run “Teen Takeover” nights for 10 months. The monthly after-hours events will give local teens a voice in planning activities—from gaming tournaments to open mic nights—while creating a safe space where they can connect, learn new skills, and feel heard in their community.
