Summer Workshops Help Monte Vista Kids Invest in Healthy Relationships

  • Local Champion: Tu Casa, Inc.
  • Date Funded: May 12, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $3,179

Many teens in Monte Vista struggle to discern the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships, so much so that several school counselors and teachers have requested that Tu Casa, Inc., an organization focused on creating strong communities in the San Luis Valley, host trainings with students. To make the trainings impactful, Tu Casa, Inc. planned to provide a six-week summer workshop for youth, but needed a little help finding an outreach coordinator. With Help from the LOR Foundation, the organization was able to hire an expert to lead the workshops, rent a space, and purchase supplies that will create a fun, enriching learning environment for Monte Vista kids.
