Strength-Training Seminar Helps Libby Coaches Support Athletes

  • Local Champion: Libby Schools Foundation
  • Date Funded: May 17, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,500

Coaches at Libby schools want to support student athletes with sustainable strength training and conditioning programs, but some coaches don’t have the specialized training necessary to implement them. To address the issue, folks from the Libby High School Health Enhancement Curriculum approached the LOR Foundation with an idea for making sure students were learning proper training techniques. By holding a year-long educational seminar, Libby’s coaches and mentors will be better able to guide the youth strength-training experience. Funding from LOR helped the schools hire a subject matter expert to lead the seminar and give them access to that expert as a mentor once the seminar ends.
