Repairs to a Cortez Preschool Entrance Create a Safer Drop-Off Location

  • Local Champion: Trinity Lutheran Preschool Inc.
  • Date Funded: July 26, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $5,200

After one of the hardest winters in Cortez’s history, the entrance to Trinity Lutheran Preschool was damaged, creating a dangerous situation for parents and guardians dropping off students for school. Staff members from the school hoped to repair the north-facing entrance, particularly before winter sets in again and creates an icy walkway. With help from the LOR Foundation, the school will repair the damaged concrete bridge, create a better drainage system to protect from freezing, and build a covered entrance that will protect the entrance from adverse weather, creating a safer exchange location for students and families.
