Radios Will Help Libby’s Street Crews Keep the Roads Clear

  • Local Champion: City of Libby
  • Date Funded: October 23, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,500

As more people have moved into Libby, the number of motorists has increased and the demand on city road crews has only grown. Particularly in the winter, this has put serious strain on the crews—in some cases, residents have confronted crews—but the crews have no radio devices and struggle to communicate with other crew members and law enforcement. To address this problem, the Libby street supervisor reached out to the LOR Foundation, which helped the street crew purchase and install mounted communication devices in their vehicles, which will make clearing sidewalks and roads safer for both residents and city employees.
