Pirate PTO Equipment Improves Community Events and Engagement in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: Monte Vista School District NO. C-8
  • Date Funded: July 22, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $3,560

The Monte Vista Pirate PTO has built a tradition of free, family-friendly events that strengthen school pride and community connection; however, interest and attendance have outpaced the organization’s current equipment supply. A Monte Vista School District employee and dedicated PTO Board member saw this challenge firsthand at events like the Family Sweetheart Dance, where photo booth lines grew too long for the available equipment to meet demand. Recognizing the need for additional resources, she approached LOR with an idea: purchase supplies and equipment to expand the PTO’s capacity to host free, family-friendly events. LOR funding will help the Monte Vista Pirate PTO purchase a photo printer package, wireless printer module, DSLR camera package, studio lights, laptop computer, and photo booth software. These investments will allow the PTO to serve more families efficiently, improve the event experience for students and community members, and ensure free, inclusive events remain a lasting part of Monte Vista’s community life.
