New Taos Youth Basketball League Fosters NBA Dreams

  • Local Champion: Taos Youth Basketball League
  • Date Funded: August 26, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $18,700

While more than 450 Taos youth play Little League baseball during the summer, Taos lacks youth recreational sport opportunities in the spring. Noting this problem, a group of Taos area parents formed the nonprofit Taos Youth Basketball League in May of 2022. In order to launch the league—and keep it affordable for all—TYBL needed support for equipment. The parents reached out to LOR, whose funding will pay for the necessary equipment: hoops, scorers table, referee jerseys, pumps, storage lockers, and balls.
