New Rides Keep the San Luis Valley Rattlers Mountain Bike Team Moving

While the San Luis Valley is a cycling mecca for many Coloradans, local youth teams often are limited by the cost of quality bikes (a race-worthy bike starts at about $2,000). That’s certainly the case with the San Luis Valley Rattlers, a local mountain biking team in Monte Vista. The club itself is affordable, but only has eight race-worthy bikes it can lend to youth who are interested in mountain biking. The simple solution? More bikes would allow more young people to learn and compete in mountain biking. LOR’s funding will help support the purchase of three bikes, a trailer, and additional training equipment.
