Mobile Trailer Streamlines Taos Community Event Operations

  • Local Champion: Fiesta de Taos Foundation
  • Date Funded: March 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $20,720

Community members, volunteers, and first responders coordinating Fiestas de Taos—the longest-standing traditional event in Taos, drawing over 10,000 attendees across three days—lacked a safe, reliable way to transport essential equipment or establish a centralized space for on-site coordination. Volunteers often relied on multiple vehicles and personal trailers to transport equipment and historical assets, resulting in inefficient setup, logistical delays, and challenges in communication and emergency response.

Volunteer board members identified the need for a more efficient solution: a mobile enclosed trailer that could serve as both a transportation solution and an on-site operations hub.

LOR’s funding supported the purchase of an enclosed trailer equipped with electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, LED lighting, service windows, and a generator. The climate-controlled unit will provide a safe, comfortable space for first responders and volunteers to work during events, while also serving as secure, year-round storage for materials and historical assets.

This mobile hub will improve setup efficiency, reduce handling of important materials, and support faster coordination and emergency response during Fiestas de Taos and four additional annual events—strengthening logistics, safety, and the long-term sustainability of volunteer-led traditions that serve thousands of Taos families and visitors.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Downtown Taos.
