Lander’s Meadowlark Market Increases Access to Local Food

  • Local Champion: Central Wyoming College Foundation
  • Date Funded: October 30, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $29,500

Many Lander residents want to buy groceries from local producers, but there are few current systems to do so and the processes are not convenient for many would-be consumers. To address this issue, a group of locals are joining forces to create a storefront and commercial kitchen that would increase access to local food. The front of the building would be a grocery store open on weekdays, allowing residents to browse and purchase products they might not have found elsewhere. To help get the project in motion, the LOR Foundation made a grant that will cover six months worth of rent, utilities, and insurance.
