Lander Teens Have One More Safe Gathering Space

  • Local Champion: Evangelical Free Church of Lander Wyoming
  • Date Funded: March 7, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $21,320

There are very few places for teenagers to spend time on weekends in Lander, and as a result some kids have run into trouble with drugs and alcohol. When a local mom heard about issues some teens were having, she began organizing First Fridays for Teens (FFFT)—a monthly, substance-free opportunity for kids to gather on Friday evenings at the Lander Free Church. But to make the gatherings as attractive as possible to teens, the organizers needed a little help. They reached out to the LOR Foundation, which made a grant that helped FFFT purchase chairs and tables, corn hole sets, an ice cream maker, office supplies, and more.
