Lander Teen Launches Fish Education Classes for Kids

  • Local Champion: A Lander local
  • Date Funded: December 5, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $1,550

Fish make attractive first pets for many Lander youth because they are relatively inexpensive and easy to care for. Trouble is without some know-how some of the fish aren’t well looked after—a fact one local teen recognized and wanted to address. Working with Project Carpe Diem, she came up with the idea to host classes at the Learning Resource Library where children can watch fish grow from eggs into adults, learn about anatomy and reproduction in fish, and how to care for them at each stage of development. Then the kids have will get to take a beta fish home. Just just need a help to get the classes going. LOR’s support will help with the purchase of fish tanks and tank supplies.
