Helping Lander’s Fireworks Show Go On Ensures Economic Boons Too

  • Local Champion: Lander local
  • Date Funded: October 10, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $24,850

Lander’s Fourth of July fireworks have been a community highlight for decades; the display brings thousands of locals together and delivers a significant economic boost to local businesses. But it became a tradition in danger when the local fire department was no longer able to put them on. A Lander local came up with the idea of forming a community group to put the fireworks on in the future (including raising money to do so) to carry on the tradition. In the meantime, they needed help hiring a pyrotechnic expert—typically reserved a year in advance—for the 2024 show to ensure the show, well, went on. LOR’s funding will help support the hiring of the pyrotechnic expert and the cost of becoming a 501(c)(3).

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation
