A First-Of-Its Kind Flag Football League Gets Monte Vista Kids Involved

  • Local Champion: Adams State University Foundation Inc.
  • Date Funded: October 24, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $9,998

Boys and girls in Monte Vista do not have opportunities to participate in non-tackle football unless their families are able to bring them to a neighboring community. To address that problem, a kinesiology professor and football coach at Adams State University reached out to the LOR Foundation with an idea for creating a flag football league in Monte Vista. LOR is covering the registration fees for 100 Monte Vista kids, and Adams State will work with the City of Monte Vista to create an NFL Flag Football program, the first of its kind in the community.
