Emergency Equipment Makes Senior Housing Safer in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: Tri-County Senior Citizens & Housing Inc
  • Date Funded: November 25, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $2,571

The Tri-County Senior Citizens & Housing complex is a critical housing resource for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Monte Vista. However, after a recent building audit, they became aware that the facility lacked the proper emergency safety equipment and understanding of fire safety protocols. So, an employee contacted LOR for support installing the necessary protective equipment in all residents’ apartments and increasing awareness of safety measures among staff and tenants.

Funding from the LOR Foundation will ensure each apartment is equipped with a smoke detector and first aid kit, make essential improvements to building signage about emergencies, and provide staff with access to crucial emergency resources, including but not limited to flashlights, safety vests and glasses, charging kits, and jump starter equipment.
