Community Gym Builds Health and Connection in Questa

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: November 5, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $25,005

For years, Questa residents have had to travel outside of Questa for gym access, and teachers and staff have lacked a convenient place to exercise and manage stress. In response to ongoing community interest in a shared fitness space, the school district’s new athletic director reached out to LOR to help turn that vision into reality.

LOR funding will enable the Questa Independent School District to purchase equipment—such as weights, machines, and training gear—to establish a community gym at the high school sports complex. The facility will be open to students during school hours and to residents before school, in the evening, and on weekends for affordable drop-in fees or monthly memberships.

This year-round fitness space will expand access to health and wellness opportunities while fostering stronger connections among students, families, and community members of all ages.
