Baseball Equipment Expands Youth Sports Opportunities on Monte Vista’s North Side

  • Local Champion: Sargent Youth Sports
  • Date Funded: April 15, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,720

An increasing number of youth on the north side of Monte Vista are showing interest in recreational baseball, but financial barriers and limited access to safe, up-to-date equipment prevent many from participating at an early age. Following a successful partnership with LOR to expand youth football opportunities, the Sargent Youth Sports team returned to LOR with a similar proposal to address baseball needs. LOR funding will support the purchase of uniforms, helmets, catcher’s gear, batting cage nets, pitching equipment, a portable mound, and a portable backstop, ensuring that all interested Monte Vista youth can participate safely, regardless of financial circumstances. This investment will expand equitable access to recreation for families on the north side of town, promote physical activity, and provide positive, structured opportunities for youth development through organized sports.
