An Archery Program Teaches Cortez Youth New Skills

Many Cortez families cannot afford the equipment and training needed to participate in archery, leaving local youth without access to a sport that can teach valuable life skills like discipline, self-control, and focus. One local therapist and trained archery instructor had found success using the sport to support youth mental health. Hoping to help more Cortez kids, he wanted to partner with local churches and community groups to start a community-wide youth archery program. Looking for support, he reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help Dirt ‘N’ Nails Farms purchase bows, arrows, targets, and other equipment to launch the program, creating opportunities for students to build confidence, develop new skills, and potentially pursue college scholarships.
