A Simple Equipment Fix Gives Young Taoseños Their Shot at Friday Night Light Dreams

  • Local Champion: Taos Youth Football League
  • Date Funded: August 18, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $9,690

Taos has seen a significant increase in interest in youth sports in recent years. That’s not a problem itself—except that some sports teams don’t have enough equipment to serve everyone who’s interested. Taos Youth Football League for example has nearly 100 players ages three to 12 who want to participate—but only 70 helmets. To solve this dilemma, members of the Taos Youth Football League reached out to LOR for help purchasing additional equipment. LOR’s funding will be used to purchase 30 helmets, ensuring every young Taoseño who wants to try football can.
