A Refrigerator Keeps a Libby School Lunch Program Going

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: April 16, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,798

Libby Elementary School serves lunch to nearly 550 students every day, but when their main refrigerator failed unexpectedly, the school faced a crisis. Without adequate cold storage, staff had to order smaller quantities of food more frequently, losing bulk pricing discounts and straining the program’s already tight budget. Realizing the school couldn’t quickly replace the refrigerator due to budget constraints, one staff member reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Libby Elementary purchase a new commercial refrigerator, ensuring the school can continue providing essential meals for students.
