A New Pathway Connects Weiser

  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: September 19, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $19,774

For years, Weiser residents who wanted to walk or bike across town faced a challenging choice: brave a commercial truck route or navigate other busy streets to travel between the Annex and U.S. Highway 95 bridges. Many community members dreamed of creating a safer pathway, but without funding their vision remained out of reach. When one city employee saw an opportunity to finally address this need, she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the City of Weiser hire contractors and create a 2.5-mile pathway connecting the two bridges. The new route will make crossing town safer for pedestrians and cyclists while also improving access to Weiser’s community fishing pond and linking locals to the roughly 80-mile Weiser River Trail.
