An Event Stage Ensures All Weiser Graduates Get to Celebrate

  • Local Champion: Weiser School District 431
  • Date Funded: April 15, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $24,875

Every graduating student deserves the chance to accept their diploma on stage. But in Weiser, that’s not the reality. Weiser School District’s stage is more than 40 years old and does not meet the accessibility standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act. This year at least one student was facing the possibility that they would not get to receive their diploma onstage. So, a district staff member—who believed passionately that everyone should get the same opportunity to celebrate—reached out to LOR with a solution: a new event stage. LOR’s funding will help Weiser School District purchase a portable stage with ADA-accessible ramps and guardrails, ensuring every graduate the chance to see family cheering and cameras flashing.
