A Libby School Implements Much-Needed Security Measures

  • Local Champion: Kootenai Valley Christian School
  • Date Funded: April 28, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $21,924

School security is essential in today’s world, but the Kootenai Valley Christian School (KVCS) in Libby lacked the proper systems to provide a safe learning environment. The school’s nine classrooms, library, and gymnasium did not have a phones, leaving the building unconnected in case of an emergency. Moreover, access through the front door was a manual lock—which means the school was unsecured during pick-up and drop-off hours. To address these issues, the school principal brought a security solution to the LOR Foundation, which helped CVCS bridge the funding gap for an updated security system. With LOR’s help, the school installed a phone and intercom system and upgraded the ingress and egress points at the school with a more modern master-locking system.
