A Community Development Expert Supports Weiser’s Growth Planning

  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: March 19, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,500

Weiser is experiencing rapid growth that is challenging the community’s ability to plan efficiently for housing, economic development, infrastructure, and essential services. A member of Weiser’s Planning and Zoning Commission recognized the need for additional expertise to navigate these complex challenges, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the city of Weiser hire a community development consultant to assist with conducting needs assessments, designing local projects, and facilitating public engagement. Weiser’s Planning and Zoning Commission will use the insights gleaned from the consultant’s work develop a comprehensive long-term growth strategy that benefits the entire community while preserving local character.
