Lander Expands a Toy Library to Make Room for Family Connections
This essential Lander gathering spot was running out of space for families to mingle, so it turned to LOR with a simple solution.
The Toy Library at Lander’s Covenant Presbyterian Church, which provides a wide range of toys parents can borrow at no cost, has become an informal gathering space for families with preschoolers, an entry point for families new to town, and a warm place to be during the long winters. That said, the Toy Library does not have space to safely accommodate a lot of interaction: The cluttered space is both a little hazardous and also deters parents from lingering long enough to have supportive conversations with other Landerites. So one of the program’s volunteers reached out to LOR with a simple solution: add a shed for storage for the Library’s many toys, creating more space for families to connect. LOR’s funding helped purchase shelving, storage bins, storage shed, and educational materials. Learn more about how this incredible space provides an inviting connection point for young families in the video below.
