Cortez Residents Demystify Local Government with a Community Guide

To help Cortez residents better understand their government and how it works, one group of locals wrote the guide.

Local government can feel mystifying, and navigating it can be confusing and overwhelming for residents; with many departments and jurisdictions, locals sometimes struggle to know whom to contact in each municipality. To help Cortez residents better understand their government and how it works, members of the League of Women Voters of Montezuma County came up with a simple solution: create a community guide that could be distributed both in print and digital formats. LOR’s funding helped support the design and printing of more 2,500 guides, making local government that much easier for residents to access.
