Youth Basketball League Brings Sports Home to Questa

In the past, Questa did not have a youth basketball league, requiring potential participants to travel to Taos and leaving many children without access to structured sports programs due to transportation or cost barriers. When a youth sports volunteer saw how this limited local children’s opportunities to build skills, confidence, and community connections, she had an idea to launch a local league for kids ages 4–12.

LOR’s funding helped establish the Questa Youth Basketball League by purchasing basketballs, uniforms, and game equipment to support practices and competitions in town. Now, Questa youth can participate in organized sports without the burden of travel, gaining access to a healthy activity that supports individual development and strengthens community pride.
