Winter Equipment Protects Libby’s Shelter Animals and Volunteers

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County Shelter Friends
  • Date Funded: December 9, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $4,700

Lincoln County’s animal shelter recently transitioned to new nonprofit support, but the change has left the shelter without adequate winter supplies to care for animals during freezing temperatures. One shelter leader wanted to ensure animals and volunteers stay safe and warm during the critical winter months, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Lincoln County Shelter Friends purchase a heated cat house, insulation, dog beds, ice melt, snow removal tools, and cold-weather protective equipment for volunteers. The winter supplies will protect shelter animals while enabling volunteers to provide care throughout Libby’s harsh winter season.
