Vouchers Make Lander’s Outdoor Ice Rink Accessible For More Youth

  • Local Champion: City of Lander
  • Date Funded: December 19, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $2,100

Lander’s outdoor ice rink is a favorite winter destination, but it only lasts as long as the weather allows. To enjoy this Lander asset, though, children must have skates or rent them each time they want to skate. This cost can be a barrier for some young skaters. Recognizing this obstacle, a Lander local worked with the city to develop the idea of a voucher program that would all more kids access to the rink, even if they don’t already own skates. They just needed help launching it. LOR’s funding will help cover the cost of skate rentals and rink admission for 300 children this winter.
