Traffic Signs Keep the Libby Community Safe During Construction

  • Local Champion: City of Libby
  • Date Funded: September 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,729

Libby’s growing population is placing increasing demands on the city’s infrastructure, requiring more frequent construction that creates hazardous road conditions for drivers and pedestrians. The city’s Streets, Sidewalks & Water Distribution Department currently lacks adequate warning signs to alert residents to dangers like loose gravel and and changing traffic patterns amid the rise in construction. Staff with the department wanted to ensure public safety during necessary infrastructure improvements, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the city of Libby purchase warning signs, cones, stands, and safety equipment that can be deployed wherever road work creates potential hazards. The portable signs and equipment will give drivers and pedestrians advanced warning, preventing accidents and improving local road safety.
