Tents Keep Festival-Goers Flocking to Cortez Events

  • Local Champion: Cortez Celtic Fair Inc.
  • Date Funded: November 3, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,430

Attendees of Cortez festivals often face sweltering heat and sun, reducing interest and participation. The co-founder of one such festival, the Cortez Celtic Fair, was worried about heat-related safety among the more than 6,000 people who attend the event, so he reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Cortez Celtic Fair purchase two 20-by-20-foot shade tents to provide essential sun protection at both the Celtic Fair and the local Oktoberfest. The tents will create a safer and more comfortable environment, allowing families to spend more time enjoying free, community events that raise funds for local nonprofits.
