Talpa Community Market Reaches More Taoseños in its Second Year

  • Local Champion: Talpa Community Center Association Inc.
  • Date Funded: July 30, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $2,800

Taos locals want to buy locally produced food and the Talpa Community Market, which launched last year with support from LOR, is helping them do just that. However, as the market returned in 2023 with twice as many vendors, the organizers realized they needed to reach more locals and raise awareness via advertisements, signage, and a new website that will help people find information easily. With a grant from LOR, the market organizers were able to run radio, print, and social media ads, purchase new banners, and acquire several tablets to better manage their website content—efforts that will help Taos locals find their way to the market.
