Safety Nets Protect Pedestrians at Monte Vista Golf Course

  • Local Champion: City of Monte Vista
  • Date Funded: September 25, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $22,910

Pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers near the Monte Vista Golf Course face safety risks from stray golf balls. In response to ongoing concerns from community members, the Golf Club President and the Monte Vista City Manager approached LOR with the idea to install protective barriers.

LOR’s funding will support the purchase and installation of two golf net systems, one shielding the putting green and pathway, the other protecting a nearby street and parking area. These nets will provide reliable physical barriers around high-risk areas of the historic course, enhancing safety for both people and property at one of Colorado’s oldest public golf courses.
