Roll On: Bowling Equipment Helps Taos Special Olympics Athletes

Special Olympics athletes in Taos lack proper equipment to participate in bowling, one of few opportunities for individuals with special needs to engage in locally. Moreover, securing lanes on a weekly basis was becoming a significant financial hurdle for Special Olympics of New Mexico. With this problem in mind, a Taos local reached out to the LOR Foundation, and with LOR’s support, the local Special Olympics organizers were able to purchase bowling shoes, balls, uniforms, and a ramp. LOR’s funding will also be used to rent lanes at the bowling alley weekly for at least one year, an opportunity that will keep the athletes involved.
