Reflective Winter Gear Protects Questa’s First Responders

  • Local Champion: Village of Questa
  • Date Funded: December 18, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,300

Questa firefighters often respond to emergencies in harsh winter conditions, where darkness, snow, and low visibility increase the risk of accidents during roadside operations. When fire department leadership recognized that the lack of proper reflective winter jackets and beanies left their crew vulnerable to cold-related fatigue and safety hazards, they reached out to LOR for support.

LOR’s funding will help the Questa Fire Department purchase 25 high-quality reflective winter jackets and beanies to ensure responders remain warm, visible, and protected during winter emergencies. This essential gear will enhance safety for first responders managing traffic at accident scenes and responding to nighttime calls, enabling them to perform their duties effectively while protecting themselves and the community they serve.
